Finding your machine ID

A license key is tied to a machine ID: 16 hexadecimal characters, derived from your system drive. It looks like this:

Node-locked license

Use the ID of the workstation that will run the plugin.

  1. Open Houdini and switch to the GAZIFICATOR shelf.
  2. Click About.
  3. Copy the Machine ID shown in the dialog.

Floating license

Use the ID of the machine that runs the license server, not the artists' workstations. Seats are handed out over your network, so the workstations need no IDs of their own.

  1. Start the floating license server from the download page.
  2. Type sysid in its console and press Enter.
  3. Copy the 16 character value it prints.

The ID changed after a hardware swap. Replacing the system drive changes the ID. Write to support@blackcore.technology with your order number and we will reissue the key.

Buying for several machines

Paste every ID into the machine ID field at checkout, separated by a space or a comma. You get one key per machine, up to five per order. Need more? A floating license is usually the better fit.
